About Adventure Packers
Learn to Ski in Gulmarg with Your Own Private Instructor
Adventure Packers is a ski school in Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir, teaching skiing and snowboarding in the Himalayas since 2013. We have taught more than 5,000 skiers and snowboarders on these slopes. We run ski lessons for complete beginners, intermediate skiers and advanced riders, in 3, 5, 7 and 10-day courses. Every ski course is taught one on one by a private instructor who calls these mountains home, and prices start at ₹16,000 including skis, boots, poles, ski wear, gloves, goggles and safety gear.

Course Curriculum
What You Learn: Day by Day
Here is what happens on a beginner ski course in Gulmarg. Longer courses start the same way and build from there.
Day 1
Your First Day on Skis
Warm-up and stretching, then you meet your equipment. You learn how to carry skis, put on ski boots and bindings, and take your first steps on the slope. The session covers the snow plough position for controlling speed, and how to get up after a fall.
Day 2
Building Control
Side-stepping uphill on skis, side slipping across a slope, stronger braking with a wider snow plough, and balance training on gentle gradients. You use the ski lift for the first time by the end of the day.
Day 3
Turning and Linking
Long turns, short turns and the duck walk for moving across flat snow. By the end of the third day, most beginners are ready for a first run on an intermediate slope.
Longer programmes continue into parallel turns, carving, steeper terrain, ungroomed snow and mogul control. Every student who completes a course receives a certificate.

Snowboarding Lessons in Gulmarg
If you would rather ride a board than ski, we run snowboarding courses in the same 3, 5, 7 and 10-day formats. Beginners learn stance, balance, edge control and first linked turns. Experienced riders work on carving, freestyle and ungroomed snow. Snowboarding courses include private instruction, board, boots, snow wear, gloves, goggles and safety gear, starting from ₹16,000 for a 3-day course.

All Equipment Provided
Skis, boots, poles, ski wear, gloves, goggles and safety gear are all included. You do not need to buy or hire anything before arriving.
What to Bring & Know
Warm thermal base layers, thick ski socks, sunscreen and lip balm. Gloves and goggles are provided. Helmets are available locally and recommended. As skiing is an adventure sport, personal travel insurance is required before joining any course.

The Bunny Slopes
Where every beginner starts: wide, gentle and perfect for walking on skis, speed control, stopping and getting up after a fall. Ski bar tickets included.
Intermediate Slopes
Where students move once they can turn and stop reliably. Longer runs, steeper gradients and real descent.
The Gulmarg Gondola
Gondola and chairlift tickets are not included in course prices, but we can help you plan them when you arrive.
Higher Terrain
Advanced skiers may train on more challenging terrain when conditions and ability allow, always with guide judgement.
