What Equipment Is Included

If you are booking a ski or snowboarding course with Adventure Packers, all equipment is already included in the price. You do not need to visit a separate hire shop, negotiate a rental deal or carry equipment to Gulmarg. Everything is fitted at our base at Golf View Market on the first morning of your course.

Skiing — included in every course

Skis (sized to your height and ability)

What to Bring

What You Need to Bring Yourself

All ski and snowboard equipment is provided. Bring the following personal items:

Thermal base layers — top and bottom. Merino wool or synthetic, not cotton.
Thick ski socks — wool or dedicated ski socks. Bring two or three pairs. Avoid cotton.
Gloves or ski mittens — waterproof if possible. Hands get cold fast at altitude.
Sunglasses or ski goggles — the sun at altitude is intense, especially on clear days with snow reflection.
High-SPF sunscreen — factor 50+. Apply to face, nose and the back of the neck.
Lip balm with SPF — lips burn and crack in high-altitude cold and wind.

Helmets are available locally and strongly recommended. As skiing is an adventure sport, personal travel insurance covering mountain activities is required before joining any course.

Equipment Quality

About the Equipment We Provide

Equipment is inspected and maintained at the start of each season. Bindings are checked and set to the correct release torque for each student's weight and ability level by the instructor on the first morning. If anything does not fit correctly during the course, it is adjusted immediately.

We provide equipment suitable for the terrain and level of each course. A beginner is not given racing skis. An advanced student on a 10-day programme gets equipment suited to steeper terrain and more technical skiing. The instructor makes this call.
